NIEUPORT 17 3-VIEW DRAWING
This 3-view drawing is from the Harleyford publication Fighter Aircraft of World War 1.  The Nieuport 17 was another favored export to Russia and assigned sparingly to its best pilots in Fighter Detachments until Russian production could begin to produce aircraftt  The Nieuport 17 enhanced French fighter successes until outclassed by the two-gun Albatros D series. Nieuport continued development of this design through the Nieuport 23, 24, 25, and 27 but could never outclass German fighter development after 1917.

THE MODEL TO BE BUILT
The model to be built is Nieuport 17 N.1910 of the Russian 1st BAG, flown by Alexandr Alexandrovich Kozakov, 17+ victory ace.  This profile was created by Harry Dempsey and appeared in Osprey's Russian Aces of World War 1 (Aircraft of the Aces No.111).  Consult also The Imperial Russian Air Service and Russian Aces of WW1 (see bibliography below).
