Facing color positions are lapels, turnbacks, collar, cuffs, and cuff-flaps.  Dark green facing color positions piped in the facing color.  The lace color of all dragoon regiments was yellow (gold for officers).  Button color of all dragoon regiments was yellow metal (gold for officers).  Jackets and breeches for all regiments was dark green piped in the facing color.  Lance pennants were red over white for all regiments.  Campaign overalls were usually dark green with a facing color stripe down each leg and with reinforced black inseams.

In general, trumpeters wore the reverse colors of their regiment.  For example, a trumpeter of the 3rd Lancer Regiment would wear a pink coat with cuffs, cuff-flaps, and collar in dark green piped pink.  However, trumpeter uniforms varied widely at any one time.  Trumpeters typically rode white or gray horses.
